L'aube fleurie

L'aube fleurie

Il fait froid / It's cold

Femme qui marche dans la neige.jpg

Il fait froid

L'hiver blanchit le dur chemin

Tes jours aux méchants sont en proie.

La bise mord ta douce main ;

La haine souffle sur ta joie.

La neige emplit le noir sillon.

La lumière est diminuée...

Ferme ta porte à l'aquilon !

Ferme ta vitre à la nuée !

Et puis laisse ton coeur ouvert !

Le coeur, c'est la sainte fenêtre.

Le soleil de brume est couvert ;

Mais Dieu va rayonner peut-être !

Doute du bonheur, fruit mortel ;

Doute de l'homme plein d'envie ;

Doute du prêtre et de l'autel ;

Garde ton sourire vainqueur ;

Bel arc-en-ciel, sors de l'orage !

Garde ton amour éternel.

L'hiver, l'astre éteint-il sa flamme ?

Dieu ne retire rien du ciel ;

Ne retire rien de ton âme !

Victor Hugo

IT'S COLD

Winter whitens the hard way

Your days are the prey of the wicked.

The wind bites your soft hand;

Hatred breath on your joy.

Snow fills the black groove.

The light is diminished ...

Shut the door to the north wind!

Shut your window to the cloud!

And let your heart open!

The heart is the holy window.

The mist covers the sun ;

But God will radiate perhaps!

Doubt of happiness, deadly fruit;

Doubt of the man full of envy;

Doubt of the priest and the altar;

But believe in love, O my life!

Believe in love, always full,

Always brilliant in all the sails!

In love firebrand of  the fireplace!

In love radius of the stars!

Love, and do not despair.

In your soul, sometimes when I pass,

Where my verses whisper,

Leave everything in its place.

Faithfulness without trouble,

Peace by elevated virtues,

And indulgence for others,

Sponge the washed fouls.

In your mind, where everything is beautiful,

Do that nothing falls or back.

Make a torch with your love.

It becomes clear what is burning.

To these enmity demons

Oppose your serene sweetness,

And reverse  to them  in pity

All the hate they vomited on you.

Hatred is the winter of the heart.

Plain them! But keep your courage.

Keep your winning smile;

Beautiful rainbow, come out of the storm!

Keep your eternal love.

In winter, does the sun extinguish its flame?

God does not withdraw anything from heaven;

Do not withdraw anything from your soul!
